Are we The Slaves of Our Unconscious Minds and Bodies?

The classic freaudian teachings about how you, say between the ages of 5-8,played doctor with your sister, mom, other female friends, were merely showcasing your need for sexual interaction in an honest, pure and affectionate way that represent you in that kind of age. Or perhaps how your love for your mother, and somewhat love for your father in your early years was disproportionately divided, with your mother gaining the biggest share, as you are dependent on her, and as a result an underlying jealousy of your father is probable for having a strong relationship with your mother, and for how limited your love for her can be.

They are all intresting analogies, they really are, the perspective was perhaps popular at the time, and wether the underlying sexual cover of these particular analogies is to something that stimulates thoughts as to the extent we should belive these perspectives, is again neither correct nor incorrect, I belive we ought to take them as they are.

It’s undeniable that we in some way, to some degree, consist of a conscious and subconscious mind and body, two planes that interact with each other and form the person we see in front of us. The person may be a successful CEO at a powerhouse tech startup, he portrays a confident and calm nature and can speak in front of a conference room filled with many enterupers alike, and top dog wall street players! Yet the moment you mention his diveroced wife, his eyes twitch, his fists clench, the room begins to fill with uneasy intensity, he may even begin to scratch his head as he chooses to change the topic. Are those two personas not one and the same, are they separate individuals that want to hog the so called light, as mentioned in the blockbuster movie split. Are we doomed to suffer an inner war between we deem appropriate and bring to the real world and must scrape what isn’t under the carpet? Do we all have an inner predator lurking within, in the shape of Ted bundy, Kevin spacey, or some sicker form of pathology? Must we all suffer the contradictions we call life between the two planes? Can we sustain control all the time, what keeps the inner us from breaking the cages and coming to the surface, as with the protagonist in Breaking Bad? Perhaps, the essstial question lies within the spectrum of a saying, what are we?
Flesh, blood and soul? Empty space? Diffrent persoas that make us up? Though there are a plethora of perspectives, I like to see it through the shadow work methodology, where there coexists an inner and outer world, that makes us as we are. It’s a large area of study that tackles the conscious mind, the unconscious mind, the ego, the shadows and so forth. It suggests that in order to truly in complete harmony with what is within and what is without, one must dive deep within himself, through all the layers, and simply listen to what the interal world says, without judgment or labels, but to simply hear what the inner us says. Not only that, but to define what each part of us within us says and wants, understand it’s agenda and core need and guide it with compassion in a fair manner. It also suggests that one must truly acknowledge, that as much as he or she is capable of bringing good to the world, one must acknowledge his ability to burn the world down in a heartbeat. So what does the inner exploration look like from a high level, well let’s take an example of an excersise by a man named chad , deep within chad he identifies a shadow within him known as Casa nova Chad , this dude cannot get enough of female attention, he constantly seeks it without ever settling down, he is always sizing the other sex up and formulating the best approach, it’s not necessarily that he wants to sleep with anybody, but rather to make a statement that he is an extremely charmful individual, who can enter any lock and key, the moment he decides to do so,it’s all just to prove a point, that can’t be proved with every women he meets, and so the hunt continues. Left unchecked this can sometimes be inappropriate, done in poor circumstances, and could offedend people, especially when he is married or something of the sort, so what one may ask, what can be done to tame the fox? We first define the need, in this case it’s the unbounded female attention, whether friend or Co worker it doesn’t matter, then we try to understand the agenda, here it’s as follows, ” To charm any and every woman I interact with on a constant basis”, easy enough? Well then what, the previous steps are key and can help one understand why we sometimes do what we do unconsciously, subconsciously or consciously, but then comes the question, what can I do about it? As mentioned above it would be to guide in a fair and appropriate manner into the light of consciousness, to hear chad casnavoa out, acknowledge his existence, and use his skills out in the open, so that he doesn’t need to do his thing when we least expect him to do so. After acknowledging, chad casanova, he can then choose to take up his charm and use it with family, friends and Co workers, meaning that perhaps he can buy his mother a massage gun, after seeing her tried after a workout and telling her its to help reach her fitness goals, he can also give a female Co worker who was constantly stressed at work, his copy of the new earth, to help keep her consciousness in the present. Whilst some might claim, in Chad’s case, he’s merely using the skills of his persona to get an up in life, or for some hidden agenda, and so I guess we all have our perspectives that are conditioned by our experiences in life.

To conclude really, I truly belive the unconscious world within us all, is truly an unbounded super power, that has evolved through millennias, and that we all we might need to do is merely hear what our unconscious bodies are saying, through meditation or jorunaling, and further our limited understanding of what makes us as fragile beings, what we truly are..
